Psychological wellbeing. Duty of care. Production support.

I am a BABCP accredited psychotherapist with extensive clinical experience and specialist training in Duty of Care for TV production with YAFTA. I bring my clinical expertise in mental health, trauma and psychological risk to the television, film and media industry, supporting the wellbeing of contributors and production teams across the production life-cycle and offering psychological insight to the development of stories involving mental health and cultural identity.

I am particularly interested in how people’s experiences, relationships and cultural backgrounds shape their psychological worlds, and how this understanding can inform both responsible production practices and authentic storytelling.

Duty of Care & Psychological Wellbeing.

Taking part in a television programme or working on a production can bring significant emotional and psychological demands. These can arise before filming begins, during production and long after a programme has aired.

Drawing on my clinical background and specialist Duty of Care training, I support productions from pre-production and contributor preparation through filming, transmission and aftercare. I am available to work on location, providing on-set psychological support where required, as well as helping production teams anticipate and respond to psychological wellbeing and safeguarding needs in a thoughtful, practical and proportionate way.

I work across a range of programming formats and levels of risk, supporting cast, crew and contributors in scripted productions, documentaries, crime programming and reality television.

I am also interested in the wellbeing of production teams, particularly when working with sensitive material, challenging subject matter or emotionally demanding situations.

Psychological Script Consultancy.

I offer psychological insight to writers, development teams and producers creating stories involving mental health, trauma, relationships and identity.

I have a particular interest in South Asian narratives and the portrayal of South Asian characters. My clinical experience and cultural understanding can help explore how family relationships, cultural expectations, intergenerational experiences, identity and belonging may influence a character’s thoughts, emotions and behaviour.

Whether developing a character’s psychological history, exploring family dynamics or reviewing the portrayal of a mental health difficulty, I can help writers and production teams consider whether a storyline feels psychologically credible, culturally informed and authentic.

The aim is to support thoughtful, considered storytelling without losing sight of the creative vision.

Clinical Experience & Wellbeing Workshops.

My work across NHS services and private practice has given me experience supporting people with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and significant life challenges. I draw on evidence-based psychological approaches, including CBT and EMDR.

Alongside my clinical work, I deliver wellbeing workshops and facilitate reflective discussions on mental health and wellbeing. I am to offer psycho-educational workshops for production teams, focused on understanding mental health, recognising signs of distress, and promoting psychological safety and effective management of mental health throughout the production cycle.
